Super Barbie Lace & Melon Review / Ying Lens House / Beautiful Eyes

It's that time again!

So these were among the very first circle lenses I ever bought, and I never got around to reviewing them so I figured I should probably get on that. I actually don't have any pictures because I had to throw them both away =/ (More on that in a bit!)

Super Barbie Lace Brown

This is the lens I got stuck with because Beautiful Eyes on facebook scammed/screwed me over. I tried for a few months to sell them but I had no luck, especially considering they were prescription. I decided to just try them on for the hell of it, despite the fact that things with my Melon lenses didn't work out.

*~*~*

Comfort: 2/5 - While they didn't make me want to rip my eyes out, these are very uncomfortable. As soon as I put them in I could feel them all over my eyes and they slid around constantly ( I suspect this has something to do with my base curve, 8.3). I couldn't wear them for longer than a few minutes. Trashed them immediately without realizing people would probably want to see pics of them D:

Color/Design: 3/5 - If you want a lace pattern, buy the Japan Barbie Eye Lace/Princess Lace instead. The lace pattern on this is just... I dunno, there's something off about it. It's kind of... sloppy. And the brown color is more of a gold. The lens just made my eyes look odd in general.

Enlargement: 4/5 - Not bad. Not big and dramatic like my i.Fairys, but still noticeable by others. I would guess that the real diameter is something like 14.7 or 14.8.

Next up,

Super Barbie Melon Brown

I bought these from Ying Lens House on facebook, and she's such a sweetheart and offers AMAZING service! Unlike the Cunty McCunterson that runs Beautiful Eyes, she will actually refund you when she makes a mistake about something being in stock. I had just had that horrible experience a few days earlier and went straight to her and when I found out I already paid her for something that turned up to be out of stock I panicked. >_< But she was SO NICE about it, despite the fact that I may have been a little mean. Of course I apologized and promised to promote her to the ends of the earth! I really wish I could wear Super Barbies because her prices are AMAZING, unfortunately I can't so I'll have to admire her business from afar. ;~; On to the review!

*~*~*

Comfort: 2.7/5 - I actually really liked these lenses, which is why it pains me to say this. They are just not very comfortable at all. This was my very first pair, and I thought that it was normal to experience them slowly migrating in my eyes throughout the day. They aren't as painful as the Lace lenses but I could still feel them in my eyes. On top of that they popped out constantly, it was a huge annoyance. In the end I had to toss them (again, this is before I considered the possibility of doing reviews of them @____@)

Color/Design: 5/5 - For a while I debated on whether or not to get the black ones, and I am glad I decided on the brown. It's a very dark, natural ring of brown, and in certain lighting can look black! Great natural brown lens.

Enlargement: 4/5 - These are pretty big, noticeable enlargement. The coloring is printed pretty close to the edge. Again, the real diameter is probably 14.7/14.8mm.

So these were my first and last Super Barbie lenses! Would I recommend them? Well, if your base curve is closer to the standard 8.6, and you can deal with them popping out, then yea. They are a decent "budget" lens, just didn't work for me.

i.Fairy Super Crystal Brown and Lili's Lens House Review

I put up a review of the i.Fairy Crystal Browns on youtubez.

I'm not a very elegant speaker so I think next time I will just use pictures and annotations <_<

Something I didn't mention in my review is that I decided to measure the lens to double check the diameter, because there seems to be confusion as to what the real diameter is. The entire lens, including the clear area, is like... 15.8mm. Measuring the color only, it's about 15.5mm.

I stupidly forgot to take a picture >: I'll take one soon and add it.

*Edit*

Here are the pics!

I seem to have made a mistake when I read it initially. They are actually 15mm on the dot. But they look so much bigger @__@

Anyway, here's the review :D

i.Fairy Eclipse Circle Lens Review *Updated*

Got my lenses! :D

Yay, my very first pair. I wanted a color that would be dark and subtle, so I went with the i.Fairy Eclipse Green. Please forgive the bad pictures, I took these in my bathroom at night. I'll add some daylight pictures tomorrow. ^-^

Here's the promo picture:
How do all these models manage to look so cute with the camera so close to them! I must learn their secrets <_<

Here's what my eye looks like:
So the lighting on these isn't great, as I took these in my bathroom, like I said earlier. Also, I apologize for my awful, end-of-the-day cakey makeup. D: However, this is just about as green as they look irl, I'm not sure how much effect changing the lighting would have. :x

*Edit* Moar pics!

In direct sunlight:

With flash:

Here's a comparison photo:

Jesus Christ! Dramatic, isn't it? It's weird because when I have them both in I don't think I look much different at all. But comparing it like this really emphasizes it! I was worried about buying circle lenses because my eyes are already really big, and I wanted them to be really, over the top big. But as I searched I found a lot of them came in the diameter that my regular lenses are @_@. Thank goodness I found these, they are magical!

* ~ * ~ *

Comfort: 4/5 - I heard all the GEO horror stories about how painful they are and I was terrified that these would be the same way. Nope, not at all =]. Can't even feel them!! *Edit* I gave these an extended test run today, I wore them at work for about five hours, got home, took them out for two hours and put them back in to wear out. I will say that I got a  bit of a headache, but I can't say it's 100% because of the lenses. My job involves me listening to extremely loud music constantly, and I also went to a show where there was more loud music. At this point I wouldn't recommend wearing them for more than five hours, just to be safe. Oh, and this might sound really gross but I am going to mention it: I seem to accumulate more sleep in my eyes than I normally do throughout the day. Huh... <_<

Color/Design: 5/5 - This is exactly what I was looking for. Gonna be honest, though, if you want a bright, vibrant color, Eclipse is not for you. But if you want a really subtle, dark color then these are great.

Enlargement: 5/5 - These definitely get the job done, as you can see. However, I like that it's still very subtle, even when it comes to enlargement. Definitely not fake looking at all.

See my previous post for why I am not recommending that you buy these where I did. <_<

Circle Lens NIGHTMARE D: - Beautiful Eyes Facebook Shop Review - NEGATIVE

Alright, so this is sort of a warning post.

I ordered two pairs of lenses from Beautiful Eyes on facebook. The girl confirmed that they were both in stock. I paid. She emails me a few days later, "Lol, boss says we don't have one of the colors you wanted [Barbie Eye Lace Chocolate], hopefully she hasn't sent your replacement already. If she hasn't then I can refund you." I'm thinking okay, awesome. Your boss just took the liberty of changing my order without my consent. She emails me and says no, her boss hasn't sent it yet, but that I cannot be refunded because that is their policy.

Excuse me?

You're not going to refund me for an item you lied about having in stock? "No. Sorry." Wow, great. I stupidly STUPIDLY sent her payment as a gift, so paypal wouldn't help me. Contacting my bank would have taken too much time. All I wanted was a refund for a lens that she didn't have in stock, was I being difficult with such a request?

After about a week of arguing with her, I said, "You know what, fuck it. Send me the other color, I'll sell them." They've been shipped, tracking provided. She also blocked me from the Facebook group. Herp derp, u sure got me.

So I see another seller on facebook doing a pre-order. I'm like, awesome, it's ending in a few days, and because it's a pre-order it's coming from the factory, so no out of stock problems. Right?

Wrong. =[

"We don't have the color you wanted."
"What are you talking about, this is a pre-order, isn't it coming from the factory?"
"No, we just order lens in bulk, the lens are already here, it's quicker that way."
"So in other words, it's not a freaking pre-order, is it?"
". . ."
"Well then forget it I would please like my money back."
"No refunds for any reason."

Luckily I didn't send the money as a gift, and I just opened the dispute. I wasn't sure what to put my reason as, since I technically haven't had the stuff shipped yet. I mean, it's entirely within my rights to have my money back if items I paid for are not as advertised and not even in stock, I would think.

Anyway, this whole ordeal is just a nightmare! Once I receive my Beautiful Eyes lenses (they are i.Fairy Eclipse Green) I will do a Youtube review of them, and their shop. Hope they like it >:]

Oh, also she has another account that she uses to sell that you may want to steer clear of.

Anyone wanna buy some circle lens from me? x]

Taobaospree Review :D

Hooray, my first Taobao order has been completed! :D For those of you who don't know, Taobao is essentially Chinese ebay, except everything there is dirt cheap. I thought I was getting good deals on socks and hats from China on ebay only paying 4 and 5 dollars here and there, little did I know these very same things are on Taobao for like 50 cents ._. The catch is you have to pay for express shipping, which generally starts at around $25/$30, as well as a shopping agent. So it's only worth it if you plan on buying a bundle of things all at once. But even then, you still end up paying less than what you would have paid on ebay. For example, I bought a pair of boots on ebay for $30, and found the exact same boots on Taobao for about $7 or $8 (d'oh!)

I suppose I should start with the shipping service I used, Taobaospree. My agent was Lucy, she was very friendly and her English was pretty good. We corresponded via email and she was usually very quick to respond, with the exception of a day or two where I had to remind her about me. I would definitely recommend them.

I ordered from a few different stores, I'll start with CherryDance, a lolita accessory shop with a lot of cute stuff. I didn't take pictures because everything literally is exactly as pictured, and I'm pretty sure they take all of these photos themselves.

I bought two of these:
Four of these (randomly selected):
One of each of these:

They are all perfect! There are a few things in this shop I've seen elsewhere on Taobao for cheaper, but on a whole this shop is great for lolita accessories.

And now the fun part, clothes and shoes :D I bought both of these boots from Xiaomayi(?). I'll show what the picture looks like first, then what they look like irl.

Red boots :D
4/5 ;; My biggest complaints about these is they don't stand up on their own and they are nowhere near as high as in the picture. I'm only 5'7"/5'8" and they are calf high ;~; Honestly though, I should have paid closer attention to the measurements. My calf is 16" around and these are pretty snug at the tops if I am wearing more than one layer of something (like tights and socks). Not to mention I have to pull them up constantly...Also, I ordered a size 43, and I normally wear size 10 shoes, and these are pretty snug. Not uncomfortably so, but snug. The bottoms say "265[mm]" which is about 10.4 inches, which is just about right for a size 10. (If you're not sure about what size to get, take a tape measure and take the length of the inside of a shoe, and make sure you find out what the inner sole length of the shoe you want to get is) Other than those small problems they're not bad. I got lots of compliments about them :3

Grey boots :D
4.5/5 ;; I'm actually pretty happy with these! These are also a size 43 and just as snug as the red boots, but they are still comfortable enough to wear. The only discrepancies I can find are that the floral print looks a bit darker, and it seems they were a bit stingy with the lace (it's not as long as pictured). Other than that they are great :x

And now for the Dream of Lolita review ^-^

Bone corseted skirt:
5/5 ;; I am wearing a tube top thing <_< I didn't feel like changing, sorry x_x This is beautiful! Comes with a built-in petti, which was a nice surprise. My waist is ~34 inches so I ordered the XXL (that's painful to say ;~;) but it fits perfectly. I wouldn't really consider this regular lolita, it's much too short (well, on me at least ;~;). But that's fine because I think I am going into the casual lolita direction anyway. My one complaint is the zipper is a bit stiff at first, just zip it up and down a handful of times to loosen it up. ^-^

I paid about $50 total (including paypal and shopping service fees) for the items themselves and around $30 to ship them. (They have you pay for the items first, and then once they figure out the weight of all your items you pay that separately) So I guess that's about $5 per item, not bad ^-^ This was definitely a positive experience and I definitely will not be using ebay ever again :x

Wholesale-Dress review o:

So, for a while I was way into Asian wholesale. I researched it, and I planned on making an order but I realized that it's just too much money to waste on something that I can't be sure will look nice, when I could just go to Charlotte Russe and browse the Clearance section.

However, Paypal recently had a promotion going on that I received an email about. Basically there are some Chinese sites that you can order from and get free shipping, wholesale-dress included. Well, I figured this would be a good time to give them a test drive by ordering a few small things.

So here's what I ordered:

And here's what I ended up getting:

Yeaaaa..... =[
So I email them, and the first thing they ask for is a picture. So I send them the above image, immediately asking for a refund. They then say this:
Ths for ur email , our wholesale is different from others just because of low price , the quality is the same as the price quoted ,dear, u can check on other web , dear ,u can choose some JR series such as JR001,  they are usually in good quality ,in order to create the long -term cooperation , we will give u a nice gift in ur next new order for compensation , is it ok? ths
Translation: "You were dumb enough to buy them for so cheap, you are now stuck with them." Long story short, we go back and forth for a few days, I constantly ask for a refund, and they constantly change the subject, offering me store credit and free gifts. I literally sent them a message where I just copy and pasted this sentence, "I want a full refund" about 15 times, and they responded like this:

We are sorry. According to our policy, it is impossible to do full refund. It is not reasonable. You know we have shipped you the goods and without charging your shipping fee. We paid the goods cost, labor cost and shipping fee, now you asked for full refund. We are sorry. We cannot do this for you. I think you should make a little concession. EXCEPT FULL REFUND, you can give us other suggestions. Thank you.
Here's a suggestion, you guys can choke on a dick.

So, I filed a claim with paypal, which was immediately dismissed in THEIR FAVOR. WHAT??? So I called Paypal, and apparently for orders placed before November on any other site than ebay, they are not able to help you if you have a claim regarding counterfeit items. They did, however, give me a courtesy credit for the amount, thank goodness. I warned them about this site, and I told them they should think twice about endorsing them, considering they are essentially a glorified scam company. She said she'd have someone look into it.

All in all, probably the worst experience on the internets ever. The sad part is I've seen reviews about this site before, and I should have known better, but I figured these items were so small that they couldn't mess them up too badly. I was soooo wrong x_x

I encourage everyone to report these guys to econsumer, it takes about 2 minutes, totally painless. What they are doing is blatant copyright infringement. If I were to make a website where I used pictures from Guess and Juicy Couture and whatnot, then went and bought some cheap fabric, making something that kind of resembles the picture but not really, and when people asked for refunds just said, "welp, you were dumb enough to buy them for so cheap, you are stuck with them" I would have the pants sued off of me. Why they have been allowed to get away with this for so long is baffling.

I think a rating system in this instance won't be necessary, just steer clear, people.

Perler Bead Art~

EDIT: Artfire is complete! www.artfire.com/users/StegosaurusStomp

So, on a whim, I decided to start doing these things. It's actually pretty fun and I plan on making them into all kinds of fun things like coasters and magnets and whatnot. (Artfire's been made but I just need to fill it with stuff first :3)

Up first we have Bubble Bobble dinosaurs :3

I like how they came out! My shades of orange were limited so I had to use this super bright neon orange but it looks pretty good :x

Aaaand next Pikachu:

He was much harder than I anticipated. It was hard to keep track of the pixel shading x_x But still, not bad o:
